Over 300 tickets issued on behalf of members, dozens of cars and buses organized to transport fans to the Olympic stadium, a venue that is always open and packed every time the Magica takes to the field. And on the horizon a clear objective: to grow further. The numbers achieved by the Roma Club Versilia in its first year of life are record numbers. An Airc 1971 affiliated club and born only a year ago (the anniversary of its birth is on May 5th) which has already won a place in the hearts of the many Giallorossi present in Versilia and beyond.
Born with around sixty founding members, the club, in 365 days of activity, has now exceeded the threshold of 270 members. On average 2 new members every 3 days. “These are impressive numbers that we didn’t hope for – comments the president of the club, Alessandro Battaglia – and this is a clear sign of two things, in my opinion. On the one hand, the great desire of Rome: we discovered that here in Versilia there are hundreds of people who they support Roma and today we finally have a place, a venue, where we can all be together, several people also come from Montecatini, La Spezia, Massa and Carrara to watch the match with us It moved well in the first months of its life: it made itself known and appreciated, and more and more people came forward to be part of it.”
The work carried out by the board of directors which, in addition to the president Battaglia, includes Davide Di Bernardi, Fabio Ragona, Matteo Di Giovenale, Rossana De Sanctis, Simone Pucci, Massimo Amore, Fabiola Truglia, Marco Pomella, Andrea Bertagna and Vincenzo Cacchioni, was intense. “It was important – explains the board – to immediately find the right organization for the ticket office at the stadium and for the organization of buses, also collaborating with clubs close to us such as Massa, Lucca, San Romano and Pistoia. We brought kids to the stadium , mothers with their children, grandparents with grandchildren who had never been to the Olimpico. We saw tears of joy in the eyes of our members: emotions that we will not forget. But a lot has also been done on a social level by our members the Carnival event we held at Coccobrillo in Massaciuccoli, the dinners we organize on site, but above all the Christmas event we held in Stiava, thanks to which we managed to donate a thousand euros to the Meyer Pediatric Hospital Foundation”. The club is also widely followed on social media: from Instagram to Facebook, from Tiktok to Telegram, hundreds of people monitor the activities of RC Versilia on a daily basis. The club has also recently launched two podcasts, one focused on the last match played by Roma, with analysis and comments from members, the other on the entire day of Serie A. Without forgetting the gadgets that the club has produced: from shirts to scarves, from mugs to backpacks: designer objects that members have shown they appreciate and which will be renewed for the next season and in view of the summer.
There is still a lot to do. To improve the organizational and technical aspects of the club and to perfect the headquarters, which is located in Lido di Camaiore on the corner between via della Maddalena and via del Secco (open every Tuesday from 10am to 12pm and from 4pm to 6pm and every Thursday from 4pm to 6pm). Internal and external renovation works are planned for the summer, so as to be able to offer an increasingly welcoming venue to fans, but also an increasingly better service for members. “To celebrate the first year of the club – announces the board – we will hold a big party for all the members on Friday 17 May at Leblon in Darsena in Viareggio, the place that has often welcomed us to watch the matches and which hosted the constituent assembly of the club in 2023. For June, however, a great celebration of the 2024/25 membership. Compared to last year there will be some adjustments in the rates for members: after the first year of activity we have a clearer idea of the expenses necessary to keep a club alive and offer an increasingly better service to members, without forgetting the solidarity and charity that the club has set itself as a goal since its inception.”
