“The medical management unions have signed an agreement in Piedmont to increase the remuneration of additional services to 100 euros gross per hour”. This was announced by the Piedmontese inter-union underlining that “this agreement is good news for everyone”.

“The additional services represent shifts that doctors can do in addition to those foreseen – explains a note – and will be offered to those who currently work in departments with a shortage of staff, to guarantee services to the population and to reduce the lists of wait. In this way, instead of outsourcing guards to cooperatives, companies will be able to involve their own doctors, whose skills they know and who are thus valued and involved.”

Asking for extra shifts, according to the Interunion, “is certainly not the solution that can solve the serious staff shortage and cannot replace hiring, but increasing remuneration is certainly a response to our requests, also to make working in the system attractive public and offer remunerations comparable to those of cooperatives”.

“Furthermore – continues the Interunion – today we agreed with the regional counterpart on the criteria for the distribution of the emergency room allowance, which provides for approximately 20 euros more gross per shift in 2022 for those who worked in the emergency emergency departments, and 50 euros in addition in shifts starting from June 2023. In this way, the national regulations and the collective agreement have been implemented, which have the intention of recognizing the particular hardship of working in the DEA”.

The discussion table will continue in the coming weeks, and we have scheduled future meetings.
