It’s scheduled Saturday, May 4that 10.30 amnear the Agora of “Pietro Acclavio” Library in the Bestat area, in Taranto, the presentation of the exhibition “I’ll tell you about Taranto” which concludes the workshop which involved the students of the lower secondary school “Vico De Carolis”busythe in the research and discovery of the photographic material kept by the Civic Library.
The students of class 2E, as curators of the exhibition, will present the work created within the laboratory activity which allowed, through photography, to highlight the symbolic places of the city, its history, traditions and last but not least the transformations that the territory has undergone over time.
Thus, equipped with cameras, the students took photographs of the city of Taranto and verified and found the historical equivalent of “their shot” in the photographic material owned by the Library.
The laboratory activity – conducted for the Library by Monica Golino together with the De Carolis teachers, Elisa Amati And Annalisa Pace – it was an opportunity both to raise awareness of the Library and to strengthen knowledge of the city in which the students live. Among the actions carried out there is, in fact, that of contributing to arouse interest in history among the new generations who have the task of safeguarding the historical and landscape beauty of the territory they belong to, a sensitivity that cannot elude knowledge of the same.
The presence of the head teacher of the Vico De Carolis Comprehensive Institute and the teachers of the school, the Mayor of Taranto, Rinaldo Melucci, of the Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Taranto, Angelica Lussosoof the director of the Culture, Sport and Events Directorate, Francesco Murianniof the director of the Library, Gianluigi Pignatelliof the parents of the pupils.
