The councilor for public works Romina Morselli wanted, together with her political group, the Forza Italia supporter Marco Falcone to inaugurate the electoral committee for the race towards the EU parliament. Last night, in the historic center, the public meeting was held not far from the one for the electoral committee of the engineer Grazia Cosentino’s coalition, supported by Forza Italia. “They define us as friends of Falcone – adds Morselli – without considering that the meeting, which was well attended, included institutional representatives still in office, councilors, city councilors and many supporters. There was the centre-right which can be seen in Councilor Falcone’s way of doing politics. There was the centre-right which does not need the symbols of the parties to place itself in this political area. Membership is not given by the parties and their structures. At the inauguration there was a centre-right which only found many vetoes imposed and it is no coincidence that there were also exponents of the coalition which took shape outside the official parties”. Even in the last few hours, Forza Italia, through the local leader Nadia Gnoffo, made it known that the party was with Cosentino, at the official presentation of the committee. “The presence of a regional councilor candidate for the European competition – says Morselli – at least should have pushed the citizen coordinator of Forza Italia to give a signal. We don’t know what happened to him, there was no input from the local party. Fortunately, Falcone knows he can count on many local supporters and on a center-right that can be seen in his choices.”
