Livorno, 3 May 2024 – Livorno, with its territory between the hills and the sea, was chosen as the headquarters of the 3rd stage of the Toscano Enduro Series (TES) 2024, scheduled Sunday 5 May.
Enduro, which is one of the disciplines of the Italian Cycling Federation, is practiced with bicycles which, for non-specialists, can be defined as “mountain bikes” (MTB). It differs from similar disciplines, such as cross country and downhill, in that the races are contested on (signposted) circuits mainly downhill, with routes that favor driving technique in every situation. The ranking is obtained from the sum of the competitor’s travel times in the special stages of each individual race, added to the advances or delays at the time control points.
The aim of the Toscano Enduro Series is to introduce athletes of all ages to the practice of enduro, with a series of races and routes that give everyone the opportunity to try their hand at this discipline, to have fun and grow in safety, without excessive testing in the frantic search for the perfect guide.
Both “muscle” and electric bike (e-bike) tests are planned.
The categories, divided into both male and female age groups, are many and varied aged 13 and over.
They can register for the race (via the website https://www.toscanoenduroseries.it/) athletes registered with the FCI or one of the many sports associations affiliated with the FCI, and non-members provided they have a competitive medical certificate for cycling.
The Livorno event is organized by the amateur sports team “Mushroom MTB Livorno” (email [email protected]) who in recent days has identified the route and prepared the signs along the routes.
The municipal administration has made available the Caprilli Hippodrome (viale Italia 305), where the departure is scheduled (first athletes starting at 8 am), the arrival and awards ceremony (at 4 pm). From Saturday 4 May the “Paddock” area will be set up at the racecourse available to the athletes.
For the public interested in attending the races, the organizers let it be known that the special tests and the paths of the Colline Livornesi Trail Area are full of spectacular points where you can closely watch the passing of the athletes.
