The resurfacing work on the Lungomare Giuseppe Mazzini promenade was awarded. The interventions will be carried out by the Mazarese company Asaro Antonino which won the award procedure through the MEPA tool on the e-procurement platform “Purchases in the PA network”, offering a discount of 35.1233% on the basic amount auction price of 152,668.21 euros plus safety costs not subject to a reduction of approximately 8 thousand euros and labor costs not subject to a reduction of approximately 76 thousand euros.
The overall project also includes approximately 147 thousand euros for the purchase of materials and further sums for VAT, technical charges and landfill disposal charges for a total of approximately 480 thousand euros, deducting approximately 65 thousand euros in savings from auction discounts.
At present – we read in the managerial determination of technical approval of the project – the site of the sidewalk of the Mazzini seafront (from the height of Piazzale Quinci to the height of Via Valeria) is almost entirely compromised due to the deterioration of the bricks concrete and partly worn by various failures such as not to guarantee the safety of pedestrians. A situation that has worsened since the subsidence created depressions which, when it rains, create puddles of water which prevent normal pedestrian transit for days. Furthermore, the growth of the roots of the trees located on the pavement has further dismantled part of the existing concrete paving. Finally, due to the aforementioned failures, many inspection pits of the public lighting system are currently demolished and not at level, with the risk of tripping by pedestrians. A set of dangerous situations that led the administration to plan a specific maintenance intervention.
The work is expected to begin next week and be completed within 150 days. The works management ensures that in any case the interventions will be carried out in installments in such a way as to allow pedestrians to transit on the sidewalk in any case.
