A long story 250 years: it is that of Financial Police that today at Cagliari kicked off the anniversary celebrationsin the’auditorium of the Cagliari Conservatory. “Up connottu su benidore”, translated: “in tradition the future”. This is the motto chosen for the celebration which was attended by the President of the Region Alessandra Todde, the Archbishop of Cagliari Giuseppe Baturi and the civil and military authorities from all of Sardinia.
Next to them beyond 800 people including 400 students. «For us it is a important event – highlighted in the greetings regional commander of the Fiamme Gialle, general Claudio Bolognese – there have been many financiers, men and women, who over the course of centuries of history have decided to embrace the uniform of the Guardia di Finanza to dedicate their lives to serving the community.” During the ceremony theorchestra of the students of the Conservatorydirected by maestro Alberto Pollesel, performed pieces of traditional operas such as “O mio Babbino Caro” by Giacomo Puccini, alternating with some of the most famous film soundtracks written by the well-known composer Ennio Morricone, ending with military marches usually performed by Musical band of the Guardia di Finanza.
During the appointment the “Financier’s Prayer“, sung for the first time at a national level in the Sardinian language by the “Is Concias” male polyphonic choir of Quartucciu, directed by maestro Mattana. There were also numerous interventions by the financiers who recounted the activities of the Corps and the 250 years of history of the Guardia di Finanza, including the memory of the Sardinian financiers who made the history of the Fiamme Gialle. The video messages received from the singer Andrea Bocelli and the athlete Filippo Tortu were also shown.
