TREVISO – Important result for the youth basketball sector de The Ghirada: the team Under 17 Silver of Benetton Basket branded Solid World Group of coaches Francesco Vettori became provincial champion, after having excelled in qualifying Group A and after winning the quarterfinals against Spresiano and the semi-final in the very heated and exciting derby with Hesperia Treviso. On Sunday in Salgareda the young green and whites prevailed in the photo finish against the hosts, in the match for the provincial title, with the final score of 67 to 66 (Buzzavo R. 2, Perin 3, Trevigne 4, De Leon 5, Locatelli 7, Romeo 16, Negru 30).
Second step of the podium for the team U14 Silverwhose run in the provincial championship stopped only in the final on Sunday against Povegliano, in a hard-fought match that ended 58 to 52.
Excellent season for the team coach Marco Armellinwhich after finishing in first place undefeated in group “A” overcame Mogliano in the quarter-finals and Spresiano in the semi-finals.
The next match for both green and white teams of La Ghirada will be the regional phase with the best teams from the Venetian provinces.
