New stage of the study path “Rethinking the Anti-Mafia” organized, as part of the national project Barbiana 2040 – legal network of schools, by the university course of Anti-mafia pedagogyactive at the Department of Cultures, Education and Society of the University of Calabria, and fromCiliberto Institute of Crotone. The initiative, which will be held tomorrow, Saturday 4 May at 10.00 in the Multifunctional Hall of the Crotone school, will be opened by institutional greetings from Girolamo Arcuri, Headmaster of the Ciliberto-Lucifero Institute of Crotone, and from the introductions of Giancarlo Costabileprofessor of Anti-Mafia Pedagogy at UniCal e Rossella Frandina, professor of Literature of Ciliberto. The program includes dialogue between the journalist of the Quotidiano del Sud, Antonio AnastasiAnd Angelo Morabitofirst Director of the State Police and Deputy of the Police Headquarters of Reggio Calabria.
The theme of the seminar
The fight against the ‘ndrangheta and the hunt for fugitives is the theme at the center of this new seminar initiative. «The presence of Angelo Morabito – declare Costabile and Frandina – allows us to delve deeper the historical trial of an ‘Ndrangheta that has changed its skin. The investigative actions, carried out over the years by the deputy commissioner of Reggio Calabria, constitute a point of reference for anyone who wants to be part of a process to combat mafia power and its relational grammar in the territories. The cultural commitment that schools and universities carry out is thus part of the attempt to promote new educational alphabets through permanent networks of collaboration with state and institutional apparatuses. The objective of this project is to (re)build, also in Calabria, a pedagogy of social change that is capable of activating cultural dynamics which, starting from the bottom, are able to develop a critical sense and awareness towards the values of legality and justice». Ultimately, undertake a path of awareness, thanks to which citizens become capable of claiming legally guaranteed rights to responsibly and fully become the State of the Constitution.
