Now, wanting to leave aside the aspect relating to the lack of training of the Nurse who will have to guarantee the uncovered shift in a service in which he has never worked, it seems clear that these measures must be understood as emergency measures (one, two days) to the contingent situation but must provide for decisive actions since we believe that such a high number of accidents at work deserves particular attention aimed at identifying, above all, the preventive actions to be adopted permanently within the aforementioned lane”.

Here then is the Fials makes a series of requests in order to protect the workers it represents and hospitalized patients.

“First. A serious, timely and relevant assessment must be made of the Nursing, Medical and OSS personnel resources to ensure that they are adequate for each shift of duty. It seems clear to everyone that a lane defined as medium and low risk, in light of this evidence, must at least include the terminological revision of the risk itself as the first revision. Second, provision should be made for the adaptation of the nursing staff, an action which could be carried out with the utmost speed if the numerous suitable 24-hour nurses who were diverted from their direct care functions and engaged in carrying out administrative tasks and/or inserted into commissions (in the absence of expressions of interest), or to carry out the role of Coordinator contacts in the presence of the Organizational Function Representatives. Third, the constant presence of the Medical Director is guaranteed in all three shifts of service. Fourth, the constant presence of security guards on the ward floor is guaranteed in order to prevent any adverse event. Fifth, the work environment must be adapted, with the aim of making it safer for operators, patients and their families”.

In the event that the healthcare company does not meet the requests, Fials is ready to contact the relevant offices.
