The Italian car market rebounds in April, after the slowdown in March, with 135,353 cars registered it’s a growth of 7.52% compared to the same month of 2023. The first quarter of the year therefore closes at 586,665 with an increase of 6.1% compared to last year.

In March the Italian car market recorded its first decline after nineteen months of growth in a row and operators expected a recovery in volumes in April.

The phase therefore resumes volume recovery compared to 2019 which still remains 17.7% higher than the numbers updated to April 2024. The Italian car market therefore remains weak as emerges from the economic survey conducted at the end of April by the Promotor Study Center on a sample of dealers.

56% of those interviewed judge the level of deliveries in April to be low and 25% expect a declining market trend in the next three months.

Among the main brands in the field, the -21% of the brand should be highlighted Peugeotin home Stellantis – where Fiat closes with slightly declining volumes (-1%) – and Jeep’s -16.6%. At Volkswagen, a setback for the German company’s main brand, around 11%, and a drop in registrations also for Audi (-10.2%).
