New Cagliari stadium, meeting with ministers Abodi and Giorgetti

(ANSA) – CAGLIARI, 02 MAY – Cagliari meets the ministers of Economy and Finance, Giancarlo Giorgetti, and of Sport, Andrea Abodi, to talk about the stadium of the future. The meeting was held via videoconference: the project of the new facility was discussed also in view of the 2032 European Championships, analyzing next steps, critical issues and procedures. According to what we understand, the Government is evaluating the best measures to facilitate – this applies especially to stadiums that would like to host the European Championships – the construction or modernization processes that are sometimes slowed down by various obstacles. The possibility of a commissioner and an ad hoc rule to facilitate administrative procedures is always on the table. The possibility of setting up a real estate fund and feeding the guarantee system with the reduction of interest is also being evaluated. For Cagliari there was the president Tommaso Giulini, the managing director Carlo Catte, the director of Business and media Stefano Melis, the board member Stefano Signorelli. Also present were the industrial partners: Gruppo Costim and Impresa Percassi. The Municipality of Cagliari and the Region were also there. “It was a positive and proactive working group – explains Melis – in which the various actors involved showed a renewed impulse in identifying a simplified path towards the construction of modern stadiums for the country. Like other Italian cities, Cagliari and Sardinia they deserve to have large public infrastructures with social value as soon as possible, suitable for hosting large international events”, concludes the rossoblù manager.
