Trento, the Province will purchase six motorcycles for the Carabinieri

The Provincial Council of Trento has approved a provision to strengthen the fleet of motorcycles supplied to the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command, with the aim of improving territorial control and road safety.

The “Two safe wheels” project, proposed by the Carabinieri and shared by the Council, involves the purchase of six new motorcycles for a maximum investment of 120,000 euros. The new vehicles will go to strengthen there fleet currently in use ai Carabinieri engaged in patrolling the Trentino area, with particular attention to the mountain areas most affected by tourist flows.

The choice to focus on a greater number of motorcycles is motivated by their versatility and agility when traveling on mountain roads and paths. In this way the aim is to improve the effectiveness of law enforcement interventions for traffic regulation, prevention and combating road accidents.

A determining factor is the increase in recent years of motorcyclist tourists who visit the Trentino valleys on motorbikes, especially during the summer. Hence the need to strengthen two-wheel control services, to guarantee the safety of motorcyclists themselves as well as other road users.

The initiative falls within the scope of the 2024 provincial law, which provides for the strengthening of surveillance activities in the Trentino area. And it represents a further step forward in the collaboration between the Autonomous Province of Trento and the police to improve the quality of life in the Trentino valleys.
