Piero Fassino is under investigation by the Civitavecchia prosecutor’s office for theft. The deputy was registered on the register of suspects after, in the last few hours, the Polaria agents filed the information with the testimonies of 6 people with the prosecutor Alessandro Gentile. These are five women and a man who accuse Fassino of trying to steal a package of perfume worth 100 euros. “We have not yet received the documents – said the lawyer Fulvio Gianaria, Piero Fassino’s lawyer – when we receive them we will evaluate how to proceed”.

The documents also contain a video of what happened on April 15th at the duty free shop at Fiumicino airport, filmed by a security camera present in the business. According to what was reported by the 6 witnesses, Fassino was the author of two other similar episodes: one shortly before Christmas and the other on March 27th. The prosecutor will now have to decide whether to listen to the parliamentarian. Three paths would then open up: the prosecutor’s office could decide to ask the investigating judge to dismiss the proceedings due to the lack of evidence, or to request the dismissal request due to the “particular tenuousness of the fact” or, again, to close the investigation and move on.
