The timetables of the Ztl in Palermo are changing. From Friday 3 May until 31 October, in fact, the summer timetables will be back in force, which will essentially mean that the limited traffic zone will extend the timetables quite a bit, with more risks for non-registered motorists. to get fines. There are some changes compared to last year: on Fridays, the ZTL will start at 8am and end at 6am on Saturday, while the Saturday night traffic will start at 8pm and end at 6am on Sunday.

The summer time slot

From Monday to Thursday the ZTL will be active in the time slot 8.00-20.00, as usual. On Fridays from 08.00 to 24.00. On Saturdays in the time slots 0.00-06.00 and 20.00-24.00. On Sundays in the time slot 0.00-06.00. In practice, instead of starting at 11pm, the night-time ZTL will start from 8pm. Therefore, on Friday, the ZTL will start at 8am and end at 6am on Saturday. Saturday night, however, will begin at 8pm and end at 6am on Sunday. The opening times of the ZTL remain confirmed, from Monday to Thursday, from 08.00 to 20.00.

The Ztl white list

Over 10,300 vehicles are included in a sort of white list for circulation in the Ztl in Palermo. This list has raised doubts about the complete legitimacy of the vehicles exempt from paying the fee for circulation within the limited traffic zone.

Lagalla wants a solution

The mayor, Roberto Lagalla, had meetings with the local leaders of the police forces: police, carabinieri, firefighters. He intends to find a solution that satisfies everyone and no longer presents the problems that turned the list into a case. In short, the mayor prefers to offer a solution rather than remain on the gridiron. Provided that certain limits are respected: stop unlimited registrations and green light to an agreed limited number.

Lagalla is also willing to continue to recognize access credentials for police and carabinieri. But he wants them to put a cap on private cars on the white list so as not to create inequality.
