Moments of apprehension this morning at the port of Pozzuoli when a ship arriving from Ischia remained at the mercy of the wind for several minutes before managing to dock and disembark all its cargo.
At around 1pm the Driade, which had left at 11.30am from Ischia Porto and had stopped in Procida, found itself in the midst of a storm of very strong wind and rain as soon as it entered the Pozzuoli landing place: the ship tried for at least four aimed at mooring safely but without success, completely at the mercy of the gusts of wind from the south west.
After failed mooring attempts, the captain first took the ship out of the port and then waited for the weather conditions to improve before returning and trying the approach and mooring maneuver at the quay again which this time was successful, allowing passengers and vehicles arriving from the islands to be able to leave the ferry. No damage to passengers, crew members or vehicles was reported.
