The Territorial Operations Centers (COT) located in Savona, Finale Ligure and Valbormida have been activated

The Territorial Operations Centers (COT) located in Savona, Finale Ligure and Valbormida were activated today 2 May 2024. This new organizational structure, financed under Mission 6 of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), has the task of coordinating assistance to citizens and acting as a point of contact between the services and professionals involved in the various assistance areas : from the hospital to the local area, from residential to home care, passing through the emergency-urgency network.

The COT represent an organizational model, not directly accessible to the public, which carries out coordination and optimization functions of patient care interventions. Their activities include the monitoring of transitions between different places of care, information and logistical support to professionals in the care network and the management of health-related data, also through the use of telemedicine. The main objective is to improve the management of admissions and discharges in the various healthcare contexts, promoting integration between hospital and territory and ensuring continuity, accessibility and the best inclusion in the patient’s care and assistance process.

The Social Health Director Monica Cirone believes the activation of the COT is a significant step in the reform of territorial services, since through this organizational innovation a more adequate response is produced to the growing needs of the population, especially the elderly and frail, who require integrated models of healthcare and social.

General Director Michele Orlando underlines the objective of making the best use of the Company’s skills, including digital ones, to improve the patient care path and guarantee adequate responses to citizens’ needs. The activation of the COT, underlines the General Director, represents another step towards the complete realization of the reorganization of the territory envisaged by the PNRR which is configured as a challenge for the future in increasingly modulating the healthcare offer based on the needs of the users .
