Municipal library, a May full of events

A calendar full of events for all ages and all tastes that the municipal administration has organized in the municipal library of Sassari.

On the occasion of the extraordinary opening for Open Monuments, the Palazzo d’Usini Library will host, on Sunday 5 May at 5.30 pm, the presentation of the book “La Torres è per semper”, by Giovanni Tola.

The afternoon of Saturday 4th and the morning of Sunday 5th will be enlivened by the musical performances of the students of the DA Azuni Classical, Musical and Dance High School, who will play in the library rooms.

Double appointment, for children and adults, on May 9th. At 5.00pm Marta Gabriel will present “Pesce Poeta”, a book of poems for children dedicated to the “fish poets” from all over the world… from all the worlds. A workshop will follow, for children aged 5 and up.

At 6.00 pm, it will be the turn of the musician Angelo Vargiu and his first work “Anni e mezzorette”, a collection of short stories, ironic, sentimental and irreverent stories, unorthodox, sometimes incorrect fairy tales, where no one – or almost no one – it does what is expected.

On May 16, at 5.00 pm, Antonio Farris, former full professor of Agro-food Microbiology at the University of Sassari and President of the Sardinian Academy of Mother Yeast, will accompany the children (from 8 to 10 years) in a presentation – workshop discovering sourdough.

Dedicated to young, curious and enterprising readers, “The story of sourdough. Children discovering the mother of bread” is a book full of illustrations, which invites you to discover the magical world of natural leavening and the procedures that allow the creation, use and conservation of sourdough.

Participation in the meetings is free and access is free.

For children’s workshops it is necessary to book book by email or by telephone: central library of Piazza Tola, [email protected] 079 279 387.
