Campania Region, the new Health and Wellbeing Villages project

From 12 to 14 June, as part of the Green Med Expo&Symposium, in collaboration with Ecomondo and Ricicla Tv, the States General on the Environment (2024 edition), promoted by the Campania Region, will be held. The event will take place within the historic setting of the Mostra D’Oltremare in Naples. The basic objective is to illustrate the new green and environmental sustainability initiatives promoted in Campania; many debates are planned, where administrators, companies, experts and enthusiasts will discuss, moderated by the journalist and writer Claudia Conte. Among the great innovations of the initiative is the “Villages of Health and Wellbeing” project, with which the program aimed at valorising the great heritage of villages, internal areas and small municipalities of the Campania region will be exclusively presented. The objective is to promote the redevelopment of the territory – counteracting the growing tendency towards depopulation of the internal areas of the Region – through the establishment of territorial networks, including several municipalities (over 300) for the associated valorisation of local villages. By encouraging attractiveness, we push towards new forms of responsible tourism, even in municipalities that are not usually a destination for tourist visits. Furthermore, at the Mostra D’Oltremare the Campania Region will offer the public the opportunity to visit various set-up areas: the “Avenue of Sustainability” will in fact be organised, with an illustrative space dedicated to the many techniques for recycling waste collected separately and to new technologies for the production of energy from renewable sources. A concrete way to make citizens, especially the younger ones, experience first-hand the new environmental challenges of our time. We will also take stock of the implementation of new actions for the regional closure of the waste cycle, towards overcoming the fine imposed in 2015 by the European Union.
