The procedure to be implemented
Take your iPhone and type on the keypad that you usually use to make calls *3001#12345#*, then press the button to call. You will not initiate a phone call, but what is defined will initiate Field Test Mode, which is a hidden mode that allows you to obtain information about your device’s connection. To exit this mode, all you have to do is exit by pressing the Home button.
Usually, this function is used exclusively by technicians who have to carry out analysis and diagnosis of the connection, but it is useful to know to understand, even as a basic user, how certain mechanisms work on your device, even if the data displayed may not be clear: on the other hand, they are dedicated to professionals in the sector .
In any case, there are also useful sections for non-experts such as Serving Cell Measurements which gives information on the quality of the cellular signal: among these, Measured RSSI, Average RSRP and Average RSRQ.
RSRP (Reference Signal Receive Power) indicates the average power obtained from a single signal, theRSRQ – instead, the quality of the received signal and RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) is connected to the first two values and makes us understand, in fact, the total power obtained.
