A week full of music for the growth and creativity of the youngest. Three events in Bologna from 6 to 11 May

It is the universal language capable more than others of crossing borders and connecting people. And when it becomes an instrument of human and social growth, the power of music amplifies, opening the doors to new possibilities of expression, learning and aggregation. It is with this vision that a BolognaFiere a special week is being prepared, a great event to celebrate music as a creative and social language which unfolds in three events scheduled from 6 to 11 May:

  • there National Week of Music in Schools
  • there live presentation of the musical and dance education projects financed by the Emilia-Romagna Region, with the Regional Fund ESF +, to combat educational poverty
  • the second edition of Euphonic (9-11 May).

More than one are expected in Bologna 2,200 student performers from 75 music schools from all over Italy and are on the program more than 50 events including conferences, seminars and workshops, 14 concerts, all with free entry.

It opens, from 6 to 11 May (BolognaFiere Service Center) with the 35th edition of the National Week of Music at School – initiative promoted by the Ministry of Education and Merit, National Committee for the practical learning of music for all students, in collaboration with INDIRE, Emilia-Romagna Region, AIDSM (Italian Association of Music Schools), ESTA, Aipfm ( Italian Association for the promotion of the Music Festival) and Trinity College London – which will bring to Bologna the orchestral ensembles, choirs, rock, jazz and pop bands of the state and private 1st and 2nd cycle educational institutions from all Italy. A succession of concerts with many young people who started making music in public schools. The three-day ministerial will be opened by the conference A res publica of the school with music which will be the setting for meetings and training opportunities, dedicated not only to teachers, but to all those who deal with music not only from an artistic point of view.

Euphonic instead it opens on May 9th and, in collaboration with the Emilia-Romagna Region, offers panels, conferences and masterclasses and the presentation of experiences that embrace the broadest point of view on music today. It starts with a training course promoted by the Order of Journalists Foundation on the use of classical music and how this language must speak, increasingly, to a non-specialist audience. The program continues with in-depth studies, such as the presentation of theSurvey on live music spaces in Emilia-Romagnacreated byEntertainment observatory in collaboration with theKeepOn LIVE Association. At 1.00 pm live performance of theArturo Toscanin Orchestraie concert lesson of pop rock drummer Ivano Zanotti.

Friday 10thamong the many initiatives, we highlight the presentation of documentary dedicated to the inventor of Filuzzi, Leonildo Marcheselli, the conference on gender discrimination in the music industrythe presentation of the activities of the Emilia-Romagna Region project Go Smooth and to a lesson from the Master Giuseppe Pezzoli on drum techniques.

Saturday 11among the many events there will be theErasmus Orchestrathe presentation of Roversi workshop and the many initiatives on songwriting proposed by this new Bolognese reality and a conference on music internationalization strategies.

The May 10th and 11th they will perform musical groups born thanks to music projects financed by the Emilia-Romagn Regionto with the Regional Law n. 2/2018, the only Italian experience of a Region that brings ensemble music into schools to combat educational poverty, spread and qualify musical education to encourage inclusion. 26 bands will perform, bringing to the stage the fruit of the work that involved dozens of music schools, together with public and private schools. But there will also be performances by dozens of groups arriving from music schools across Italy.

Every evening from 9th to 11th, at 7.00 pm, the activities will end with a concert: the 9 with the Big Band Born to Swing Jazz Orchestra; on the 10th it will be the turn of The Evening of Smoothwith Massimo Tagliata (accordion) e Fabio Galliani (ocarina), A ballroom dance And Santa Balera; the 11th grand finale with one of the most original exponents of new Italian music, between hip hop and songwriting, Willie Peyotewho will perform and talk to the kids about his experience and profession.
