University of Pavia: extraordinary economic measures for the right to study. An additional one million six hundred thousand euros have been allocated for rent and support for students: the fund for special interventions has almost doubled. Rector Svelto: “It is a strategic priority of our University”.

L’University of Pavia announced the unanimous approval of extraordinary economic measures aimed at promoting the right to education and to support students who choose to move to the Lombardy city to complete their academic studies.

These interventions, decided during the meeting of Board of Directorsrepresent a total investment of almost 1.6 million Euros and are aimed at promote university life in personseen not only as a moment of training, but also of human and social growth.

Rental funds and more

The main intervention involves a extraordinary contribution of 1 million Euros intended to cover students’ rent who will choose to rent a house in Pavia or its immediate vicinity for the 2024-2025 academic year. This support will be accessible not only to freshmen, but also to students of all years of the course with a Family ISEE up to 40,000 Euros.

Moreover, it was decided to almost double the fund managed by the University through EDiSU (Body for the Right to University Education) for special interventions in the face of particularly serious family situations. This increase aims to more effectively meet the documented and justified requests that are constantly increasing.

Finally, a new measure has been introduced for the benefit of college students who are eligible for the scholarship of study but who did not receive the benefit in the previous academic year. For these students, the University will intervene to support the coverage of accommodation costs.

“These are three measures that are certainly challenging from an economic point of view – explained the Rector Francesco Svelto in a letter sent to all students – but who go to strengthen a priority strategic line of our Athensor: promote in every way real access to high-quality university education”.

With these initiatives, the University of Pavia demonstrates its concrete commitment to ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for students from all social groups, thus promoting diversity and academic excellence.
