This is a measure to support poor families promoted by the Emilia Romagna Region for the free supply of class C drugs (drugs paid for by the citizen, not granted by the National Health Service as they are not considered “essential” or “life-saving”), indicated in the Handbook of the Local Health Unit. The anti-crisis measure, adopted starting from August 2009 and renewed annually until 31 March 2025, promotes support for families, or single people, who find themselves in a situation of economic-social hardship.
Families or individuals residing in the Municipality of Parma who find themselves in a situation of poverty assessed through the calculation of the Economic Situation Indicator (ISEE) which must be equal to or lower than 7,500.00 euros.
The Municipality of Parma, in order to be closer to citizens and families most in difficulty, has identified, also for the year 2024, the names of the beneficiary families managed by the Social Services and makes certificates available of those entitled until 03/31/2025, at the four locations of the city’s territorial hubs. The citizen can then contact the Social Center to which he belongs to collect the certificate.

In order to take advantage of the free supply of drugs in band C, the prescription of the drug must be carried out by family doctors or those affiliated with the Regional Health Service. The citizen can collect the medicine independently at Pavilion n.10 in the University Hospital of Parma, Via Gramsci 14, (from Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 17.00 and Saturday from 8.30 to 12.30) by presenting, together, the blank prescription, filled out by the family doctor and the certificate issued by the Municipality’s Social Services.
