Yesterday morning the Chamber of Commerce proceeded with the nomination of the new IF-Female Entrepreneurship committee of the Arezzo-Siena Chamber of Commerce.

The committee is made up of representatives of economic associations, consumer organizations and trade unions involved in promoting equal opportunities and female entrepreneurship in the wider Arezzo-Siena area.

The council has designated as the new President of the Committee, Elisa Marcheselliwhat happens to Sonia Dalla Ragioneand who will be joined as Vice President by Giolisca Brogi.

Elisa MarcheselliPsychologist, Psychotherapist and Trainer, has held numerous professional and associative positions and is a Councilor of Tertiary Donna Confcommercio of Arezzo and Florence, the group to which female entrepreneurs in the trade, tourism and services sectors belong.

The IF Committee operates within the Chamber of Commerce and has been characterized over the years by its multiple interventions aimed at supporting and increasing the role of female entrepreneurship in the local economic system.

Among the many initiatives carried out we remember, in addition to the “Goldfashion” project – born in 2012 to promote local fashion and jewelery production – the calls for tenders activated to support women’s businesses and the many training activities, starting with “Business Mind 2.0 “, the series of online meetings to help female businesses acquire knowledge and skills in e-commerce.

There are 15,296 (as of 31 December 2023) women-owned businesses registered in the Business Register of the Arezzo-Siena Chamber of Commerce.

In province of Arezzo there are 8,643 female businesses, 0.9% less than in 2022, and represent 23.7% of the total provincial businesses.

The sectors in which the female presence is highest are commerce (1,974 companies, 22.8% of the total), agriculture (1,654 companies, 19.1%) and manufacturing activities (1,118 companies, 12.9%) .

Among the main sectors, those in which female businesses have the highest weight are: other service activities in which they represent over half of the businesses in the sector (59.3%), healthcare and social assistance (34.2%), accommodation and food services (31.4%), agriculture (29.5%) and manufacturing (22%).

At the end of 2023 in province of Siena there are 6,653 women-owned businesses, 0.7% less than in 2022 and representing 24.5% of the total provincial businesses.

The sectors in which the female presence is highest are agriculture (1,597 companies, 24% of the total), commerce (1,372 companies, 20.6%), accommodation and catering services (906 companies, 13.6% ), and other service activities (679 companies, 10.2%).

Among the main sectors, those in which female businesses have the highest weight are: other service activities in which they represent over half of the businesses in the sector (58.9%), healthcare and social assistance (41.4%), accommodation and food services (31.5%) and agriculture (29.8%).
