Lamezia Terme – “The debut tournament for Viola Tennis took place on a hot weekend in terms of temperatures and play in the TPRA Padel circuit of the FITP. A positive debut in terms of the quality of the game and the fun which also provided the backdrop to the championship of the men’s C series played on Saturday afternoon against Cupra Red of Rende” is what we read in a note.
“The event – they specify – is part of the “Road to Rome” Circuit which takes place in three phases: provincial, regional and national (to be played in Rome). The first 8 players in the ranking of each province will be able to take part in the regional Master which in turn will decide the participants of the national Masters – they explain – there were two, the “Male Expert Level” and the “Female Expert Level”.
“The men’s section – they add – was won by the pair of Pierluigi Paolillo and Andrea Battimelli, who beat the duo Antonello Cuda and Antonio Caruso 6-0 6-4 in the final. The result, which was far too severe, hides an entertaining match and fought. In the women’s category, Luisa Statti and Laura Cirillo triumphed in a very tight final against Federica Di Cello and Giada Franconeri. The former won the tournament with a result of 6-3 4-6 10-8”.
“This weekend – they conclude – the provincial phase of the Circuit ended and therefore the players who will be able to compete in the Regional Master which will presumably be held by the end of May will soon be identified. The final day was splendid, also enriched by the prizes offered up for grabs from the sponsor of the “Marco Post” tournament of Lamezia Terme and from a warm audience”.
