The Democratic Party of Calabria responds with these words to the latest statements by the President of the Calabria Region on its work. «Contrary to what Occhiuto boasted, the reform of the reclamation consortia – attack the Calabrian dems – is pure and empty propaganda. Furthermore, the reorganization of regional healthcare is a failure, as confirmed by healthcare emigration amounting to 300 million per year, the unresolved doubts about the debts and budgets of public healthcare companies, the flight of many doctors from hospitals and the general state of public services. As for transport, the region – continue the Calabrian dems – is completely at a standstill, despite Occhiuto’s false enthusiasm for the airport system manager. Calabria urgently needs truth, resources and investments, which cannot be seen with the Occhiuto management. It is also essential to fight forcefully and without duplicity against the differentiated autonomy imposed by the centre-right government, which will lead to the collapse of Calabria’s healthcare and economy, as President Occhiuto knows very well, despite his silences on the matter, covered by distractions of mass that it offers via social media. We will continue to contest the lies of the regional government and – concludes the note from the regional Democratic Party – to propose the alternative based on facts, commitment and concreteness in solving problems”.
