Regional Council, new commissions installed. In the group leaders Pescara-Roma


THE EAGLE Yesterday afternoon, at Palazzo dell’Emiciclo in L’Aquila, the installation sessions of the Council Commissions were held, during which the respective Presidency Offices were elected. This is the picture: the First Commission “Budget, general and institutional affairs” has elected Vincenzo D’Incecco as president (18 votes), Pierpaolo Pietrucci as vice-president (13 votes), and Antonietta La Porta as secretary (25 votes).
In the Second Commission “Territory, environment and infrastructure” Emiliano Di Matteo was elected president (17 votes), Antonio Di Marco vice-president (13 votes), and Carla Mannetti (26 votes) secretary. The Third Commission “Agriculture, economic development and productive activities” elected Nicola Campitelli as president (18 votes), Dino Pepe as vice-president (13 votes), and Maria Assunta Rossi as secretary (28 votes).
The Fourth Commission “European and international policies, programs of the European Commission, participation in the regulatory processes of the European Union” elected president Leonardo D’Addazio (18 votes), vice-president Enio Pavone (13 votes), and secretary Luca De Renzis (27 votes).
Finally, the Fifth Commission “Health, social security, culture, training and work” elected Paolo Gatti as president (18 votes), Vincenzo Menna as vice-president (13 votes), and Marilena Rossi as secretary (28 votes).
The Supervisory Commission elected Sandro Mariani as president (18 votes), Francesco Prospero as vice-president (13 votes), and Luciano Marinucci as secretary (26 votes).
The Regulation Council elected Luca De Renzis as president (18 votes), Enio Pavone as vice-president (13 votes), and Vincenzo D’Incecco as secretary (23 votes).

In the morning the group leaders’ meeting in which the project to upgrade the Rome – Pescara railway line was also discussed. Representatives of the COMFERR citizens’ committee were heard, together with institutional delegates from the territories concerned and technical and administrative representatives of the Abruzzo Region. The Prime Minister, Lorenzo Sospiri, announced further insights on the topic, with the future involvement of RFI (Italian Railway Network).
The group leaders also unanimously approved the calendar of work of the council commissions, which includes Tuesday and Thursday as dedicated days, while the sessions of the regional council will be held on Tuesday, except for emergencies or particular needs.

The councilors are critical Antonio Di Marco and the leader of the Democratic Party Silvio Paolucci who underlined the importance of reactivating dialogue with the communities and committees interested in the project to speed up the Rome-Pescara railway. Yesterday’s hearings were requested by councilor Di Marco and saw the participation of representatives of the committee COMFERR of Manoppello, as well as the mayor of Chieti. The request to seriously consider the feasibility of the Variante plus as a less impactful solution for the territory and its inhabitants was highlighted.
