LIVORNO. They were on board the Piombino-Florence regional train without tickets and documents. Then, after the train conductor called the railway police, on the car ride to the police station one of them kicked an officer and bit another.
Chaos on Saturday 27 April outside the Livorno central station, where a Chinese couple in their sixties from Fucecchio were reported for refusing to provide their personal details and their husband also for violence and resisting a public official. The episode occurred in the afternoon, after the check requested on board by Trenitalia staff, given that the two did not want to pay. The injured policemen who intervened were taken to the emergency room and discharged with a four-day prognosis each.
Their conditions are not serious, although the officer who was bitten on the forearm – who intervened to calm the man in the car which was already in flames – will have to carry out all the prophylactic tests, as per practice. The two Chinese citizens, residents of Fucecchio, were then accompanied to the provincial office of the scientific police in Viale Boccaccio, where they were photographed and identified.
