BUSTO ARSIZIO – A man was hit today, April 30thon the tracks in the included section between Legnano and Busto Arsizio. The victim has an estimated age of around 35 years. The identification has not yet been completed.
The investment
The man, yet another in a tragic series, was hit by train number 24564, which left Treviglio at 6.10pm and headed for Varese, scheduled to arrive at 8.17pm. The accident happened in the viale Borri area, in Busto Arsizioa few minutes before 8pm. The impact was extremely violent. The death was declared on the spot by the medical staff who arrived together with the Red Cross, the firefighters and the railway police. At the moment no cause has been ruled out, not even that of the voluntary gesture. According to what we have learned so far, the victim was walking on the tracks.
Traffic problems
THE Recorded delays reached 90 minutesand they occurred route changes and numerous cancellations.
Among the trains involved in the traffic disruptions there are also 24566 (Treviglio 18:40 – Varese 20:47), 24570 (Treviglio 19:40 – Varese 21:47), which now ends its route at Milano Certosa, and 24580 (Treviglio 10.10pm – Gallarate 11.50pm), which has been cancelled. Other canceled trains include 24573 (Varese 7.43pm – Treviglio 9.50pm), 24577 (Varese 8.43pm – Treviglio 10.50pm) and 24583 (Varese 10.13pm – Milano Porta Garibaldi 11.26pm). Regional trains have also undergone changes, with 2572 (Milan Porta Garibaldi 7.32pm – Porto Ceresio 8.45pm) now ending its route at Milano Certosa and 2581 (Porto Ceresio 9.16pm – Varese 9.36pm) cancelled. .
