VERONA – The parish church of San Giuseppe in Santa Maria Assunta in Montorio, a neighborhood on the outskirts of Verona, has been declared unusable due to a fire broke out this afternoon, Tuesday 30 April. The flames broke out at the entrance to the religious building, where some benches and chairs had been placed, used on occasions of maximum attendance. The firefighters, who arrived from Verona with three vehicles and nine operators, immediately responded put out the flames and then worked to evacuate the thick smoke which completely invaded the church, declared unusable due to lack of hygienic and health requirements caused by combustion residues. The causes of the fire are still being investigated by firefighters.
