«Molfetta, a city that doesn’t take off. Minervini mystifies reality”

The Rinascere movement expressed its opinion regarding the last municipal council of Molfetta which was held yesterday: “Once again the long and soporific report of the mayor-accountant mystifies reality and insists on describing a perfect city in constant progress take-off. This take-off, however, never happens and, rather, wounds and critical issues fester.”

“The analysis of the 2023 report of the Municipality of Molfetta not only reveals a poor ability to recover its credits – the so-called active residues -, but demonstrates with precise precision the wavering direction of the Administration. It is not planned, it is not programmed, but more and more often public money is spent on projects and initiatives that are the result of the inspiration and enthusiasm of the moment. As with the famous 2000-seat theater that was to be built where, instead, they are now building the new Cozzoli school complex performed and, rightly, the designers ask to be paid in the meantime
the administration has changed its mind and is now building a school in the same area.”

“It would be comical, if it weren’t dramatic. It is certainly grotesque. And what about the Traffic and Parking Plans? Commissioned from a Campobasso company for a value of 93 thousand euros and then vanished into some drawer of the municipal house. “We always witness more often to a new administrative practice. We could talk about the season of rambling interventions” – declares Felice Spaccavento, Rinascere City Councilor. “Measures and expenses declared (often allocated), but never implemented. Or unforeseen (or unshared) measures and expenses, which take shape quickly, without warning, without sharing (systematically forcing the legislation on the participation of all actors, for example, on PNRR projects, where citizens are only informed at the last moment of the initiatives).”

“It is increasingly clear that the Minervini-Tammacco administration is nearing the end of the line.” – adds Spaccavento – “the numerous fibrillations in the majority are proof of this. Councilors Lanza and Petruzzelli left the room this evening at the time of the vote on the 2023 financial statement. A significant fact, if we consider that they essentially decided not to assume responsibility for the administrative action. I consider it an understandable choice. Unfortunately, our fear is that the mayor-accountant will leave only rubble on this city. The time has come to equip ourselves to design a different future.”
