‘Several cities ready to host Taranto’

Massimo Ferrarese said this when taking stock of the Games

On the occasion of the meeting with the mayors of San Giorgio Jonico, Sava, Francavilla Fontana and Oria, held in Taranto on the morning of Tuesday 30 April, Massimo Ferrarese, commissioner of the Mediterranean Games, took the opportunity to take stock of the Erasmo Iacovone stadium and the possibility that Taranto FC can play inside even during the renovation works.

“The city asks me to build a large stadium, also because this is a train that passes only once in history, so we have an obligation to build something important – Ferrarese told South antenna -. The new Iacovone will be a modern plant, a flagship not only of Puglia, but of all of Southern Italy. We want Taranto to continue playing in its stadium, we have always supported it, but we know that it doesn’t depend only on us. In this regard, I must say that many cities have offered to host the rossoblu if there was no possibility of using Iacovone. I’m talking about Grottaglie, Massafra, Martina Franca, Castellaneta and San Giorgio Jonico. We are evaluating and will soon let you know which one we will choose.” Below, the interview conducted by Gianni Sebastio for Antenna Sud:
