Castellammare – New hospital, Cannizzaro at Palazzo Santa Lucia: «The city needs space»

«The choice of location is linked to the fact that the points where healthcare facilities were usually built in the past were the best from a geographical point of view» is how Dr. speaks. The second point concerns the recovery of the area, wonderfully panoramic and beautiful. An area that was destined to be lost, but thanks to the proposal of the president of the regional council, who saw the three commissioners, accepted the choice of conservation of public land for an important asset. On the agreement reached with the judge of the pre-bankruptcy composition there is the long and laborious work done by the lawyer. Bove, as well as head of Cabinet, with
which we spoke to almost every day. The objective is to recover not only that part destined for the Region, but also that historical part that was once the theater of the youth of Castellammare. The city experienced the inevitable loss of that heritage with great pain. We have recovered part of that heritage and I feel it is my duty to thank Judge Pisapia, of the bankruptcy court of Torre Annunziata, who accepted the request of the Extraordinary Commission and the Region, based on a procedure, the only one in Italy, which made it possible to overcome all a series of obstacles, leading to negotiation and closing the matter within six months. A process managed effectively. It is an important garrison, I am only a few months away from completing my mandate. If there is one thing among the many that Castellammare needs, it is space. Hypotheses are already being made about the destination of the hospital that will be replaced by this extraordinary work. Everything that needs to be preserved will be preserved, but spaces must be created so that people can live in dignified places.”
