Twenty-five stations, one hundred and twenty-five electric bikes accessible via the App, discounts between 56 and 85% on the use of e-bikes for users in possession of Ferrovie Appulo Lucane travel tickets, interactive map of the bike stations. These are the characteristics of the new bike sharing service which will start on May 6th in Gravina and on the 7th in Altamura thanks to sharing mobility projects presented by Fal and financed by the Puglia Region with 600 thousand euros each through funds divided between the Regions and the resources of the National Fund for local public transport, intended to finance projects aimed at promoting sharing mobility services.

Following a public notice issued by Fal, the service was awarded to Vaimoo, already an operator of bike sharing services in many other municipalities.

We are particularly proud – say the Fal leaders – to be able to start bike sharing which constitutes another piece in the offer of sustainable and modern mobility with a plurality of finally interconnected services at its centre. The future of mobility designed together with the Puglia Region is therefore taking increasingly shape with the large Maas (Mobility as a Service) project aimed at the digitalisation of the local public transport system and the development of an integrated platform for planning personalized routes, even choosing between different multimodal solutions. A project that will produce great benefits not only for tourists, but above all for commuters and all Apulian citizens who are Fal users who remain our priority“.

Of the 25 bike stations planned in each of the two municipalities – add the Fal managers – one is close to the Fal railway station (both in Altamura and Gravina), thus allowing users to get off our trains and move around by bike, with notable discounts on the cost of e-bike rental“.

After Bari, Molfetta and Giovinazzo – comments Matteo Pertosa, CEO and founder of Vaimoo – the launch of the service in the cities of Gravina and Altamura launches another important signal with a view to the transition to a new form of mobility that is sustainable, easy to use and affordable for everyone. After several European experiences, we are proud to be able to further contribute to the growth of cycling in our region, where Vaimoo e-bikes are designed and manufactured. Our goal is to bring this driving force for the improvement of urban life in all the municipalities of Puglia“.
