The final phase of the current school year is approaching, but the spotlight is already on the future: the calendar for the year 2024/2025 has been approved in Campania. The decision was made during the Regional Council meeting on 23 April, opening the doors to precise planning for the coming academic year.
According to what was established in the resolution voted on, schools in Campania will open their doors Thursday 12 September 2024to close the books Saturday 7 June 2025 for primary and secondary school, while for nursery school the end date is set at 30 June 2025.
The resolution also includes provisions on suspensions of lessons, due to national holidays established by state legislation. Despite this, the total number of lesson days will remain constant, compensating for the expected breaks. According to what has been reported, the total number of lesson days, net of suspensions, will be equal to 203 for primary and secondary schools. This number will be reduced by one unit if the anniversary of the Patron Saint falls during the period of teaching activity.
The approval of the school calendar represents a fundamental step in planning educational activities, allowing students, families and school staff to plan their activities and commitments in advance. The precise definition of the start and end dates of the school year, together with the provisions on suspensions, provides clear guidance for the organization of educational activities and necessary breaks.
