Authorizations for agrivoltaic systems: Puglia on the shields

There are many new agrivoltaic plants recently authorized by the Ministry of the Environment that will soon arise in Puglia and Sicily, through environmental impact assessments.

From the analysis of the update with the latest provisions on the site https://va.mite.gov.it/it-IT/Comunic…, it is noted that several practices between the provinces of Foggia have successfully completed the expected process, Brindisi, Lecce and Taranto, with a significant one involving a municipality in the province of Caltanissetta.

The largest of the authorized agrivoltaic plants is located in Maramonti, in the municipality of Nardò (Lecce) where a solar plant will be built on the land for the production of electricity from photovoltaic sources and the related works and infrastructures, with an electrical power of approximately 67 MW, with the simultaneous use of the land for quality agricultural activities, beekeeping and social activities. Of similar dimensions and again in the province of Lecce, there is another plant with a nominal power of 66 MW, to be built in the Municipality of Veglie, with the “Project of a new integrated agrovoltaic system, called Spot_40”, with underground electricity lines in the municipality of Salice Salentino (Le) and the connection works to the high voltage network to be carried out in the municipalities of Erchie (Brindisi) and Avetrana (Taranto). The “Project for an integrated photovoltaic-olive agro-energy plant with storage system, called Cerro”, with a nominal power of 46 MWp, including the related connection works to the national transmission grid, to be carried out, also concluded its process positively. in the municipality of San Paolo di Civitate (Foggia). Green light also for the project of an agrivoltaic plant, called Sparpagliata with nominal power of 30 MW, located in the municipalities of Torre Santa Susanna, Mesagne and Erchie (Brindisi). Leaving Puglia then, at the level of significant power plants, there is the project of an agrivoltaic plant with a nominal power of 41 MW called Villalba, located in the municipal area of ​​Villalba (Caltanissetta).
