Messina, notary Vittorio Quagliata definitively acquitted

It’s over. In the meantime, so to speak, sixteen years have passed. A true judicial odyssey in which the notary from Messina was the protagonist Vittorio Quagliata. Now the professional from Messina, who among other things had to abandon his profession, has been acquitted by the Court of Appeal of Reggio Calabria of the last remaining crime, money laundering, after the postponement of the Court of Cassation last March, for the affair from the “Margan Srl” bankruptcy.
Everything was linked to the long legal case for the bankruptcy of the deceased entrepreneur Sandro Pesce, known by many as the creator of the historic clothing stores “Aquarius” and “Simple”then foundered in bankruptcy after a “systematic tax evasion” between 2008 and 2011.
The first criminal section of the Supreme Court in March 2023 it had in fact annulled without postponement for bankruptcy, with the formula “because the fact does not exist”, and for money laundering with postponement before the court of appeal of Reggio Calabria, the sentence of 3 years and 6 months which had been inflicted at the time on the notary Quagliata by the court of appeal of Reggio Calabria. For the professional, who was assisted in this matter by the lawyer Alberto Gullino, it was the epilogue of a long judicial affair which saw him involved in the bankruptcy of the businesses of Pesce, his former brother-in-law.
