L’AQUILA – “Biondi and his councilors now consider the historic center as an arena, without respect for places and people. We have a duty to reverse this, which is the common feeling of those who live there and feel increasingly oppressed.”
New and heavy attack by Forza Italia on the mayor Pierluigi Biondi of Fratelli d’Italia, by voice of the city secretary Stefano Morelli, which therefore reopens the internal conflict within the majority. The subject of the note is the location for three months of the Cantieri dell’Imaginary stage, scheduled from 8 July to 6 August, and for other events above the beautiful staircase of San Bernardino.
Based on an ordinance from the municipal police, the assembly of the stage will begin at 7 am on May 2nd and end at 5 pm on May 31st, and the stage will remain there all summer.
“Unfortunately we must, once again, note that the municipal administration considers the citizens of the historic center as subjects to be continually harassed – Morelli is heated -. The installation work on the stage in San Bernardino will soon begin and as a result, for more than three months, the inhabitants of via Fortebraccio and the surrounding streets will not only have to endure in silence, rehearsals and shows almost every day with the difficulty to have their right to peace of mind, but will once again see a reduction in parking in the Piazza Bariscianello area”.
“I have two considerations to make, one regarding the inappropriateness of holding all the summer shows in the same place, also having other areas accessible in the centre, such as Piazza dell’Emiciclo. The other consideration concerns the need to give residents the opportunity, at this time of year, to compensate for the loss of parking spaces taken away with the temporary concession of part of the parking spaces at Porta Leoni. In addition to this, it would be appropriate to suspend, at least until September, the well-known resolution that allows the use of residents’ stalls at time slots”, concludes Morelli.
