Palermo, “reinforcements” arrive for the municipal police: 30 policemen hired

PALERMO – The city council of Palermo has approvedlast April 23rd, the resolution for fixed-term employment (one year, ed.) of thirty category C municipal police officers.

The agents, who today, April 30, they will carry out medical examinations at the Polyclinic and they will sign the contract. In this way they will be operational immediately. In case of waiting, we would have had to wait for the final balance sheet and it would have postponed the hiring by a few months.

The agents they were selected through recruitment using the rankings of public competitions approved by other administrationsin particular from the municipalities of Carini, Cefalù and Termini Imerese, who have expressed their availability.

The measure was implemented using a 2003 law which allows public administrations to “fill available positions, within the limits of their staffing, using suitable candidates from the rankings of public competitions approved by other administrations in the same bargaining sector”.

For the fixed-term hiring of the thirty police officers, the sums allocated are approximately one million and 200 thousand euros. In this way, the municipal police workforce, even if for just one year, will go from 832 to 862.

Falzone: “There is a need to increase the number of police”

“We have given priority to the province of Palermo. CWe will try to fill as many positions as possible.” he has declared Dario Falzonepersonnel councilor of the municipality of Palermo.

“The administration is trying in every way to implement the police in Palermo taking advantage of ministerial funds. It is clear that there is a need to increase the number of police in the city. We will seein the next months, if there will be the possibility of increasing the number by taking advantage of ministerial funding.”
