AFRAGOLA – Bullets and baseball bats had flown. A week after the mega fight that ended with four injuries, violence returns to Piazza Castello in Afragola.
A week earlier, again on Sunday, a furious fight had broken out and gunshots had also been fired right outside the church in the square while the baptism ceremony was being celebrated. Some scuffles also took place yesterday, it is not known whether they can be traced back and connected to the first clash.
“The air here is certainly very tense and the climate of violence can be felt deeply. The day after the mega brawl someone swore revenge on social media. We don’t know if the new clashes are attributable to this but in any case it is necessary to activate the security plan that the municipal administration had promised. It feels like we are reliving scenes from the past, as if we were in an American frontier town, in a continuous and dangerous free-for-all. Let’s put an end to this violent drift before any innocent people get involved.
