Ravenna, the Antico Porto di Classe reopens on May 1st

As is now customary, with the arrival of spring, the Antico Porto di Classe reopens its doors to the public. From Wednesday 1 May it will be possible to return to visit this open-air archaeological site, considered one of the main ports of the Roman and Byzantine world. The visit route, which winds along the remains of the ancient port warehouses overlooking the paved road, characterized by the wear ruts left by the wheels of the carts, allows visitors to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the time.
With the reopening of theAncient Portthe circuit of Classe Archaeological Parkwhich includes the Basilica of Sant’Apollinare in Classeincluded in the World Heritage List for its artistic exceptionality and its Classis Ravenna – Museum of the city and territory, precious space to learn about the events, protagonists and archaeological finds that make Ravenna an emblematic place for European history itself, is completed.
Timetables: from May 1st open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 10.00 to 15.00.
For those who want to deepen their knowledge of the Classe area and of this site, in ancient times at the center of very important trade with the East, all the Saturdays in May (4, 11, 18 And 25), at 10.30 amare scheduled free guided tours.
