Works at the station, the Freccia orobica will leave from Brescia

A little less “arrow” and definitely more Camunian than Orobic. It’s a mini revolution that will happen this year the summer rail connection to the Romagna Riviera. From 9 June, the day the service was activated, the Freccia orobica will not start from Bergamo, but from Brescia. Bad news for the many people from Bergamo who have already started booking departures for the seaside resorts of Romagna served by train. There is no space for other trains (the Frecciarossa to Rome has also been cancelled): the work in progress on the station tracks does not allow, when the construction site is open, to accommodate other trains and the move to the Brescia station was therefore a forced choice. It therefore promises to be a more uncomfortable and troubled journey for those who have always been used to getting into a carriage in Bergamo: the alternative to reaching Brescia by car is to make a change in Brescia, arming yourself with a good dose of patience.

Many families, many elderly people or parents with small children and strollers are used to being accompanied by family members even to the carriage, to load their luggage which they then unload directly at their destination. This year it won’t be like that, or rather: you will have to deal with a coincidence which will undoubtedly bring some more inconvenience.

The railways’ advice is to leave Bergamo at 6.43am for Brescia (last year the Freccia left Bergamo at 7.27am), while for the evening the return from the Brescia capital is set at 10.19pm, with arrival in Bergamo at 11.15pm.

This small revolution will also bring with it some small time changes: theOrobic line (this is the “official” name given by Tper, which manages the service) it will leave every morning at 8.17 from Brescia, arriving in Pesaro, last stop, at 1.15pm and returning from the Marche area at 4.45pm, arriving in Brescia at 9.52pm. To take it, the railway board is of leaving Bergamo at 6.43am for Brescia (last year the Freccia left Bergamo at 7.27), while for the evening the return from the Brescia capital is set at 10.19pm, with arrival in Bergamo at 11.15pm. With these changes, in addition to Bergamo, the other locations where the first stops of the Freccia orobica were planned, namely Grumello del Monte, Rovato and Palazzolo sull’Oglio, also lose the direct connection with the holiday cities of Romagna.
