May 1st with the umbrella, the Aosta concert moves to the Giacosa – News

Due to the forecast bad weather, the Municipality of Aosta has decided to move the May 1st concert from the open-air stage in Piazza Chanoux to the Giacosa Theatre.

The renovated structure has 450 seats: access will be free without reservations while seats last, with opening to the public starting from 5.30 pm.

The new program includes, at 6.30 pm, the performance of the Jazz Sfom Orchestra with the singer and percussionist Luca Brandoli in the ‘Buscando Cuba’ project staged in Aosta together with the music and dance group Sarayeye, created by the dancer and choreographer Francesca Spezzani.

At 7.30 pm the Mercanti di Liquore will take to the Giacosa stage, led by singer and guitarist Lorenzo Monguzzi, with Nadir Giori on bass, Andrea Verga on banjo, mandolin and electric guitar, Elio Biffi on keyboard and accordion and Lorenzo Bonfanti on drums .

As regards the afternoon programme, in case of overcast skies (but without rain), the musical parade through the historic center of the two street bands is confirmed at 5.30 pm: the Tuscan band will start from Piazza Arco d’Augusto The Fantomatik Orchestra, while the Sfom Street Band will start from Piazza della Repubblica. Both groups will converge in music in Chanoux square, dragging citizens and visitors with their notes towards the theater where they will give life to a short joint performance. In case of rain, however, there will be no traveling musical interlude, but two groups will perform under the arcades of Piazza Chanoux before the concert scheduled at the Giacosa theatre.
