Bribes to the municipal official for the urban plan, investigations also in Bergamo

The investigation, which started from Monza, has in fact spread like wildfire, even reaching the city together with Monza, Lecco and Brescia. According to the reconstruction made by the Guardia di Finanza of Monza, at the origin of the affair there were bribes for 200 thousand euros delivered to obtain a change to the urban plan, with the land going from agricultural to building and suddenly acquiring value.

Reason why an employee of the municipality of Usmate Velate, in the province of Monza Brianza, his partner, his brother-in-law and 6 local entrepreneurs were arrested by the Guardia di Finanza on various charges of complicity in corruption, issuing of invoices for non-existent transactions and tax fraud. The investigation by the financiers, coordinated by the Monza Prosecutor’s Office, led to the seizure of 243 thousand euros and another 700 thousand in seven companies attributable to those arrested, three in prison – including the municipal manager of the urban planning office Antonio Colombo – and the others you’re under house arrest. Among them also Francesco Calogero Magnano, known as Silvio Berlusconi’s former trusted surveyor, investigated in this matter for alleged tax crimes. From 2022, the military reconstructed, the employee would have pocketed at least 200 thousand euros.

According to the investigators, they would have carried out non-existent operations in the urban planning and construction sector of the Brianza municipality to increase the value of the land owned by the entrepreneurs, paying a bribe to the municipal official.
