LIVORNO A different Labor Day with a walk to relive the cult of Paolo Virzì.

Ovosodo, the timeless film that brought Livorno to the big screen, crossing the city on the back of a “Ciaino”, from the popular courtyards to the Liberty buildings overlooking the sea, passing through the “ditches” of the Venezia district, telling a story like many, with a melancholic comedy and a biting irony typically Labronian.

During our walk on Wednesday 1st May we will pass through the Ovosodo district, the historic center of Livorno, whose nice name derives from the colors that represent it, white and yellow, which recall those of the boiled egg and where we find some of the places most emblematic of the city such as Piazza Grande, Piazza Cavallotti and the Mercato delle Vettovaglie, the Goldoni Theater and the Benci school. We will then visit popular complexes where Piero Mansani and Susy live, and where questionable characters like Wyoming alternated, or of whom we really like the definition given by Tommaso in the film: “a mix between Naples, Berlin and Bucharest”.

And again the Venice district with its canals and the Pontine with a view of the Fortress to then reach Villa Fabbricotti, the school, where an exceptional guest will be waiting for us, the legendary “Nedo Mansani”, the actor Pietro Fornaciari, who will will tell anecdotes and curiosities about this generational film.
