As she announced yesterday at her party’s convention in Pescara, the Prime Minister will be the leader of the Brothers of Italy in all five constituencies in the European elections on 8 and 9 June.
The list of the Islands constituency, which includes Sicily and Sardinia, it has not yet been made official, but it is now a matter of hours, given that the deadline expires on Wednesday 1 May.
The names of the candidates were anticipated by the website BlogSicilia.it.
With ‘Georgie‘, as the president asked to be called during her self-nomination speech in Pescara, there will be the outgoing MEP elected with Forza Italia, Giuseppe Milazzofrom Palermo, the regional councilor for tourism, sport and entertainment Elvira Amatafrom Messina, and the former health councilor Ruggero RazzaCatania.
Razza is also the husband of the regional councilor for Territory and Environment Elena Pagana, who in the last legislature was elected with the 5 Star Movement and then moved to Fratelli d’Italia.
Also on the list are Giusy Savarino, Ars deputy in her fourth term, elected in Agrigento, and Alessia Scorpo, entrepreneur in the large-scale retail sector.
Scorpo was president of the municipal council of Floridia and is very close to the deputy Luca Cannata, a strong man of FdI in the Syracuse area.
The list is completed by the mayor of Gravina di Catania Massimiliano Giammusso and, the only Sardinian, the president of the Transport, Post and Telecommunications Commission of the Chamber, Salvatore Deidda.
