A new time for the Democratic Party in Trapani is possible. This was demonstrated by the great participation and enthusiasm of those, and there were many, who flocked to the PD convention in Trapani last Saturday. A population of members but also many supporters who wanted to listen to the direct experience of party administrators and activists who work every day in their realities for the good and growth of the communities.

Serious, committed people who spend their time every day with tenacity and passion, sacrificing affection and free time.

To all of them I say: THANK YOU! Thank you for participating, thank you for telling your story, thank you for embellishing a Saturday afternoon at the end of April that otherwise would have remained anonymous.

Instead, it was a busy day, dedicated to listening and sharing future projects and programs.

A party among the people and with the people, from which to listen and take inspiration to determine the administrative choices to be made. To talk and discuss with to draw new ideas and new insights, involving all those who want to actively engage in public affairs but who in recent years have remained far from politics and its dynamics. A party that at the same time knows how to build a system of coherent alliances that can then be in a position to dictate a credible government agenda for the citizens.

Last Saturday’s meeting demonstrated once again the great desire there is to create a community, to work together for the common good.

A frank and sincere discussion where we talked about healthcare, education, progress, an environmentalism that also knows how to combine social justice. The next step will now be to build a manifesto of the Democratic Party of the province of Trapani, which wants to contribute to building the Sicilian Democratic Party and which will become a founding element of the national Democratic Party.

Therefore, this message comes from Trapani, the last province and empire: we will build our own platform with our own manifesto or we will make it available to militants, leaders and citizens, always ready for discussion. For us there is no problem of clear and preconceived divisions, there are no prejudices but the desire to discuss the issues to find the right solutions.

And we say to sympathizers: become militant! The party needs to grow thanks to their direct contribution, to their active participation in the life of the clubs. This new life will be fundamental to increase the credibility and awareness of a party which, in the wake of the Constitution, wants to build participation in defense of social justice and solidarity.
