Lamezia Terme – The President of the Region Roberto Occhiuto chose the international airport of Lamezia Terme to take stock of the activities carried out at the helm of the Citadel, approximately two years after its establishment. The occasion was useful for Occhiuto to show journalists the construction site of the new boarding area under construction.

“Within a few weeks – Occhiuto assured – the works will be finished, the new block will replace the current awning (for which Sacal paid 19 thousand euros per month, editor’s note) of the gates, which will be even larger than now. We have started the work from this first block and then we will continue with the other airports”. According to the sole director of Sacal Marco Franchini, the company that manages the Calabrian airports “will be able to give dignity to the infrastructure which had not really been valorised in the past. Light and linearity, attention to the environment were the key words of the works carried out and which will be finished by the summer season, by the end of June, in the boarding area where a service area with bars and restaurants, nursery and other services is planned. This first investment cost just over 5 million euros. all thanks to Calabrian workers. We want to symbolically represent a take-off of Calabria”.
