The Zecchino d’Oro castings continue their journey along the country and arrive in Sicily to transform into reality the dream of the boys and girls who wish to become the soloists of the next edition of the singing event, accompanied by the Piccolo Coro dell’Antoniano, directed by Sabrina Simoni. There are three new dates to put on the agenda: Friday 10th and Saturday 11th May the appointment is at the Forum Shopping Center in Palermo (Via Filippo Pecoraino, 90124), while on Sunday 12th May the auditions will land at the Letojanni Multifunctional Palace (Piazza Corrado Cagli, 98037), in the province of Messina.
How to participate in the selections
The selections will be held from 10.00 to 13.00 and from 14.00 to 18.00. Participation is free. Signing up for castings is simple: just connect to the Zecchino d’Oro official website and select the stage of interest. Registrations can be made until the Thursday preceding the audition date. Even when applications are closed it is possible to participate in the selections by showing up in person between 5.00 pm and 6.00 pm. The official casting playlist is available on the Piccolo Coro dell’Antoniano YouTube channel from which each child will be able to choose their favorite song and prepare to sing in view of the auditions. The playlist contains the great Zecchino d’Oro classics, but also the successes of the latest editions.
Sicily at the Zecchino d’Oro
There are 67 boys and girls from Sicily who, over the years, have participated in the event: the last victory for a song sung by a little Sicilian talent dates back to two years ago, when “Il panda con le ali” , played by Mariapaola Chiummo, won the 2022 edition of the Zecchino d’Oro. “The event is a special experience for young aspiring soloists and their families, and certainly the casting itself becomes an opportunity to get in touch with other boys and girls, to sing their favorite songs and share a pinch of the magical world of the Zecchino d’Oro”, explains the director of the Piccolo Coro dell’Antoniano Sabrina Simoni. “We like to be able to continue to tell and spread good values to all boys and girls with the Piccolo Coro and with music. If a single voice is rarely heard, together with many others it becomes a choir”, adds Br. Giampaolo Cavalli, Director of Antoniano.
