Pordenone, Youth Center and library change face: yes to the works

April 29, 2024

In Pordenone the green light is given to the work on the Youth Center in via Pontinia.

In Pordenone green light for works renovation of the Youth Center in via Pontinia, which they will return to the entire neighborhood the Jolanda Turchet library renewed. To allow the works to be carried out, the Center will remain closed to the public until the end of the summer, but all activities for children will be transferred to the Youth Center of Largo Cervignano. The latter will therefore be open from Monday to Friday from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.

The objective of this project is to integrate the activities of the neighborhood library with those of the Youth Center, to increase intergenerational exchange and to stimulate a certain curiosity and interest in children. The works will lead to creation of a multipurpose room that can be used by both library users and children, so that the latter can be more easily involved in library initiatives.

The other interventions planned.

This project fits between numerous interventions that the Municipality of Pordenone is carrying out in the Rorai district, above all to make the spaces of the complex in via Aprilia, 2 and via Pontinia safer and more usable. Among the interventions, financed by the PINQuA project, is the creation of a multipurpose area with basketball court and gymnastics path on a park owned by the municipality in a state of abandonment, a weekly neighborhood market with a prevalence of zero km products and the redevelopment of the green area for gaming.

Furthermore, the municipality in order to enhance the same urban context, it intends to soon build a five-a-side football pitch in synthetic grass with adequate fencing and lighting, as well as an area equipped with draining flooring serving the playing field. Finally, architectural barriers will be eliminated from the existing pedestrian paths and a green area will be created.
